A Summery Drive Through Glen Coe & Glen Etive

Yes, that's snow on Stob Coire Nan Lochan. Aonach Dun is to the right.

I realise I've written multiple posts on Glen Coe, but it's just so beautiful we can't stop driving back up there. So, here are a bunch of pictures of Glen Coe and the road down to Glen Etive from our drive back in May. We came down through Glen Coe from the direction of Fort William, so we saw the Three Sisters first before driving down the one lane road to Glen Etive.

This is where we took a hike last fall down to the river. So much greener now!

Um, yeah, so these deer were EVERYWHERE. We had one try to get into the car later on so apparently some have no fear of people.

Nothing but being here in person can really convey how huge the mountains are. But you can see the tiny road and further in the distance is a tiny, white house for scale.

Loch Etive. The midges were a nightmare so I basically took a few pictures and fled to the car. Nasty little things.

The large house is one of the few houses seen on the drive down to Glen Etive. It's Dalness Lodge and can be rented for a mere £4995 per week. It was at one time owned by Ian Fleming's family (the author of James Bond's books).

We have our little two person tent, we have blankets, and we have bought bug spray so at some point we're going to attempt camping out here. Someday. Maybe.

We managed to finish our drive down to Glen Etive just as the sun was setting. So far, we've driven through Glen Coe in the fall, during a snowstorm, and now during a summery, sunny evening. It really keeps getting more and more beautiful though and the views never get old.
