Christmas Market in Edinburgh
I've been in such a festive Christmas mood since we went to Edinburgh a few weeks ago. The whole town was dressed up for Christmas and I came back wanting to decorate the house from top to bottom (but resisted since it was before American Thanksgiving). ;)
I love Edinburgh throughout the year, but at Christmas the entire town is magical. Princes Street Gardens was transformed into a European Christmas Market with cheery stalls all lit up with beautiful goodies.
The chocolate stall caught my eye. All those piles of decadent chocolate...
The Christmas Market made it into British Vogue as one of the top UK markets to visit!
Aaron thinks he's going to get me to go up on the Ferris Wheel. Ha! Nope. #Idontdoheights
Even the Balmoral had lights up at the top, although they weren't lit up any of the five times we walked by.
I think this is a rather British picture with the double decker crossing the bridge and Edinburgh Castle in the background. This was from Calton Hill which obviously affords a great overlook over Edinburgh.
We meandered through the center of the Scottish Market as well, but I didn't have the opportunity to snap many pictures. There is a skating rink there in the centre and of course some booths. We will probably spend more time there next time we go back to Edinburgh. These markets are a definite must visit at Christmastime. Next up on my list is to visit the Glasgow Markets in St. Enoch's Square!
