Celtic Warrior Cruise on Loch Lomond

For my birthday, a friend gifted me a Celtic Warrior Cruise on Loch Lomond, to be used at my leisure. The gift card hung around in my wallet for a couple of months, until we decided to use it up last Monday. We’d been waiting for a nice day and Monday definitely shone through.

We had originally planned to spend it as a date with just us, but I have two toddlers who are enamored with boats, so we ended up bringing them along. For the remainder of the day, G kept telling me she “steered the boat” because she had a blast pretending to use the steering wheel on the top deck. Highlight of her little life, I think!

The trees hadn’t really started to change color, but the weather was so lovely, I am glad we took advantage of it! The boat was extremely luxurious, and we had our choice of beverages offered about 1/4 of the way through the trip. They also provided oversized blankets and our guide was very knowledgable and fantastic with kids. It was also lovely to have such a personalized tour - there were only 6 adults on the boat!

Georgie and Aaron really explored the boat. I sat up on the top deck with my wee man and enjoyed the view. Apparently, there was a bedroom below, and a small kitchen area, alongside an enclosed seating area and space for the captain to navigate.

Conic Hill is the hill in the background. We climbed that last month. Blog post incoming about that hike as well!

The boat sailed up the loch and circled around Inchmurrin which holds distinction as the largest, freshwater island in Britain. The island also has self-catering cottages, a small farm, and a restaurant on it, which is quite reasonably priced considering you must take a boat over to the island to eat. Added it to our list of to-dos for a date night out :)

The cruise lasted just about an hour, and as we were heading back to the dock, the weather started to turn cool and the wind picked up. It was such a lovely way to spend an hour, and I would highly recommend it, if you’d like a personalized and knowledgeable tour of Loch Lomond!
